TOPICS
Patrick and Lance discuss machine shop and workshop proper edict of watchmaker’s attire, tables and chests in these current times and that from the past.
LEVIN LATHE
Levin Lathe chip beds, the lathe beds and the motor mount bases get their final layouts explained by Patrick in great detail before Lance is tasked with the permanent installation.
GERMAN MICRO DRILL PRESS
Patrick installs new advanced technology ball bearing idler pulleys and shares how quiet these new replacements are. Thought it is the last call when we add new parts to any vintage machine without first doing our very best to preserve those original and often historic components from the past.
LEVIN ACCESSORIES
Lance shares updates to which Levin & Son lathe machine accessories remain to be disassembled, cleaned, polished, inspected, reworked and returned to Patrick for new bearings replacement, parts reassembly, oiling and final testing before being placed back into service.
GERMAN TAPPING MACHINE
Patrick finally receives a thread cutter we did not have in stock so he can finalize machining of these two thin precision bearing nuts for the German tapping machine so it can finally be placed back into production.
LEVIN LATHE ACCESSORIES TO BE COMPLETED
1) 6 Position Turret attachments
2) Levin Radius attachment
3) Levin Micro Drill attachment
SECRET share during refurbishing occurs when Lance is asked by Patrick to share a very rare American Lathe maker named Marshall and while the name Marshall Jewelers & Watchmakers lathes are not as rare this item, I am asked to share it. This is the rare C&E Marshall Company lathe accessory made in Chicago, Illinois. We share our Marshall Milling attachment being cautiously refurbished.

Shop Adventures is a Weekly YouTube Series filmed at a home mostly converted into a full machining and finishing operation located in a small Mojave Desert California Town named Yucca Valley.
This series follows the adventures of two childhood friends as they rebuild vintage precision micro-machines and tools that will allow them the ability to make their own designed product into a reality but only after they stopped doing work for others on these same machines, with these same precision tools for the past several decades.
