The Opener is the first of many songs that I will be releasing throughout the end of 2024 and into 2025.
I'm going to make another video breaking down the composition/recording process for this, and when I do it will be linked here.

Back in March 2024, my friend Matthias Bublath went away for a month and gave me the keys to his rehearsal studio. I had some ideas for songs that I wanted to experiment with - so I decided to buy a Motu M6 4-Channel interface (not sponsored, but I will put an affiliate link below!).
Anyway, what started out as a small experiment turned into recording 15 full songs playing all of the instruments - including some where I'm singing. Those will be released later.
"The Opener" is exactly how I imagine a great start to a concert should sound. Funky, interesting, groovy, unexpected twists and turns, lively solos and most importantly, catchy and singable. It also happens to be a relatively new baseball term - used to describe a pitcher 'opens' the game for one inning, so it seemed appropriate for this song.
