We wish we could take away all of life’s hardships for kids—ensuring they always have food, a warm home, and stability. But the reality is, we can’t control everything they face outside of our care. What we can do is make sure that right here, right now, they know they are safe. 🏡💛
Physical and emotional safety are foundational for children to regulate their emotions. That means:
✔️ Protecting them from physical harm
✔️ Letting them know their emotions are valid
✔️ Creating a space where they feel seen and secure
A child who feels safe right now can begin to regulate. They don’t have to carry the weight of what happened before they arrived or what they may face when they leave. You are their safe place. And that makes all the difference. 💙
