We take a look at getting that awesome level living in your head down on paper to explain the idea to others and solidify the concept for yourself. We go over some level design techniques, such as leading the eye, creating clear differentiating points of interest, and plan view design. We also cover Photoshop techniques such as using the lasso tool for hard edged concepting, creating depth using mist and value desaturation, and basic lighting/FX to communicate the look and feel. From this video, we are going into a part 2 that will go through recreating this scene in Unity 6 using ProBuilder and ProGrid for 3D level design.
