Stop Obsessing Over Speed Metrics and SEO Scores
At a certain point, it’s good enough!
Worry about clearing all website errors and hitting around a 90% in SEMRush when possible
Speed scores are great, and if you have the dev skills, knock it out of the park. But if you are about to fire someone over shaving a .2 off the speed score on a page with a self-hosted video, stop! You may have a Wix site and it’s no one's fault but yours, and Wix and well Avishai Abrahami. Odds are you are still better than 80% of the web, and slow sites are all over the top of the search results, it's difficult to keep large sites loading quickly 100% of the time.
The point is, It's all relative! The tools measure what they think Google is considering and weighing, and they are likely pretty close, but we do not know. Going from 80% to 90% with a site audit tool likely won’t make your website come soaring into the search results. Getting to 100 on a speed score is not where you should be focusing all your efforts.
There may be more important places to focus, like content, backlinks, content, and backlinks! So get back to building content and backlinks!
