Can I build backlinks too fast? Link Cadence
Hi, I am Mike Guess with 39links.com, and in my fourteen years of backlinking, I have never been able to hit a website hard enough that a penalty was received for backlinking too fast. And when you think about it, major brands can net thousands of backlinks in a day with a new product launch, major announcement, or endorsement.
Having built thousands of backlinks in a month for national brands and building hundreds of links a month for multiple e-commerce and enterprise-level companies with no penalties.
I believe, for the most part, link cadence is a myth outside of the fact that sending fresh signals will help keep you at the top of the search. Build the backlinking gap and maintain it. And yes, you can achieve this in a month, six months, or a year. Quality will trump quantity. But as far as cadence is considered, I have found timing often does not matter too much; it can be sporadic. But I also see consistency work great time and time again.
As a warning, you do need to build quality backlinks that are highly relevant to your subject matter. Low-quality links, spammy links, or links from IP addresses that are blacklisted can get you into trouble.
