A 103-year-old war veteran tells of World War II. This 103-year-old contemporary witness was born in 1921 and had to take part in the Western campaign in France in 1940. The 103-year-old war veteran and athlete was then shipped to Africa in 1941. During the African campaign in 1941, he was taken prisoner of war. After a few months as a prisoner of war in Egypt, he was shipped to Australia as a prisoner of war on the RMS Queen Elizabeth. The 103-year-old war veteran was a prisoner of war from 1941 to 1947, i.e. 6 years.
I had the incredible honor of interviewing the 103-year-old war veteran and the 103-year-old athlete for the second time. This 103-year-old tells us today:
How he experienced his childhood and youth in the 1920s.
How he experienced the "Anschluss of Austria" in March 1938.
How he experienced the Second World War (French campaign 1940 & African campaign 1941).
How he ended up as a prisoner of war in Africa in 1941.
How he experienced the 6 years of captivity as a prisoner of war in Australia.
How he returned from being a prisoner of war and rebuilt his life.
What is his secret from 103 years
and why he continues to exercise every day at the age of 103.
You will receive these and many other stories and life wisdom today.
The interview with this 103-year-old war veteran was conducted in order to make a contribution to world peace. Contemporary witnesses like this 103-year-old athlete are among the few people who can tell you first-hand how important peace is.
A big thank you goes not only to the 103-year-old himself, but also to his family, who made the interview possible by agreeing to it.

Life wisdom from 100-year-olds.
I - Daniel Pleunik, qualified health and nursing professional - have already had the honor of interviewing over twenty 100-year-old people and recording their valuable life stories and life wisdom. (As of January 12, 2025)
I conduct these interviews with 100-year-old contemporary witnesses in addition to my job as a nurse for 3 reasons:
1) To contribute to world peace
2) To ensure that history does not repeat itself
3) To encourage young people to be human, respectful & vigilant through the stories of contemporary witnesses.
