In some cases you need to write your content in two columns. You can use table drawing for this purpose. But the easier way is to use tab stops from the vertical ruler.
Let's show you how to Set Tab Stops Using the Ruler in Microsoft Office Word.

Type first column data in your document.

Now select all lines and then double click on the lower part of vertical ruler. Notice that if you double click on the upper part of the horizontal ruler, the page setup will be opened.

First, you should set tab stop position. that means the distance from the start of first column. For example I set it on 5 cm.

then in alignment part select left to set the start of second column.

And the last part is for leader to the second column. You have 4 options. First choice is none for no leader, 2nd for dotted leader, 3rd for dashed leader and the last one for underlined leader.

Now go to the end of first line and press tab button and then type the second column data. Do it for every line.

You can change tap stops settings every time you want by clicking on the small L-shaped icon appears on the ruler.
