But behind the scenes of the Third Reich, in the highest circles of the Nazi elite, the wives of top Nazis led lives far removed from this ideal—and many of them were not merely followers. They actively participated in the regime's crimes or supported their husbands' murderous ideologies. Some were just as ruthless and cold as their husbands—in some cases, even worse.
