A compass is a device that is used for navigation because it indicates direction. The most common type of compass is a magnetic compass.
A Magnetic compass is made up of a magnetized needle. The earth has an inner magnetic field. The field has two poles, north, and south which connect magnetic lines. A Magnetic compass is made up of a magnetized needle and it helps us identify the four cardinal directions of Earth - North, West, East, and South.
