A rainbow is a multicolour curved arch, made by light and water droplets.
How are rainbows formed?
Rainbows are formed due to the refraction property of light. Refraction is the bending of light as it passes from one transparent substance into another.
When sunlight enters a water droplet, the light is bent into multiple angles and divided into colours causing a rainbow to appear.
What colours are there?
When refraction occurs in water droplets, this causes the light in the prism to split into 7 colours. Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet.
Are rainbows curved?
Rainbows are actually full circles of these multi coloured lights, but they are presented to us as curved or semicircles. Rainbows appear to be curved due to the horizon and fixed angle of your eye. Since the angle from the eye is a cone shape, it only sees part of the rainbow.

The geometric shape of a rainbow is angled at roughly 42 degrees.
Can humans ever see the full rainbow?
It is possible to see the full rainbow, only if you are high enough in a plane and that there are no disturbances in the atmosphere.
You can make your own curved rainbow by using a spray bottle on a patch of sunlight!
