In this episode we visit the CSX at Romulus, MI. and than travel to Vickers Jct., in Toledo, Ohio to watch trains in the thick fog.
First at Romulus, we catch a northbound CSX freight along Shook Rd. on the Saginaw Sub. This location is north of the NS diamond at Romulus on their Detroit District.
Our second stop, the same day, is Vickers Jct. in Toledo, Ohio. This is where it got interesting, because as we stood there it got progressively foggier. It got to the point to where the NS Toledo Dispatchers were giving trains permission over the radio, block to block, because the engine crews could not see the signals at all. The NS does not have LED signals on the Chicago Line around Toledo. Not sure if they would have helped.
