Dowutin Star Wars Species Lore in Under a Minute
Dowutins have been popping up more and more in Star Wars. Grummgar in The Force Awakens, the Ninth Sister in Fallen Order, Pan Eyta from The High Republic, and most recently Mileggi in The Bad Batch. They were massive, imposing humanoids recognizable by their unique chin horns. They had thick, durable skin and sharp claws. They lived to be centuries old, and like many real world reptiles, they never stopped growing in size. Dowutins that survived to be five hundred could weigh up to a ton. It was rumored that they could not die of old age. Young Dowutins were forced to fend for themselves on their frigid homeworld, Dowut. Those that quickly learned to hunt thrived. Throughout the galaxy they were sought after as hired muscle and mercenaries. We also know they could be Force-sensitive, as evidenced by Masana Tide, who was a Jedi until she fell to the dark side, becoming the Ninth Sister in the Empire’s Inquisitorius.
