Retinoblastoma
Dr. Aster: Today's topic is Retinoblastoma, an congenital eye tumour that begins in the retina. Retina is made up of nerve tissue that senses light and sends signals through your optic nerve to your brain, where these signals are interpreted as images. Though Retinoblastoma is congenital it is not recognized at birth and is usually seen between 1 and 2 years of age most commonly and rarely occur in adults. A rare form of eye cancer, retinoblastoma is the most common form of cancer affecting the eye in children with defect in vision, white eye ball, squint. Retinoblastoma may occur in one or both eyes.
