Hello and welcome. Today's topic is irregular periods. You have irregular periods if the length of your menstrual cycle keeps changing. The normal length of a woman’s menstrual cycle is 28 days, but this varies between individuals. Irregular menstruation is when the length of the cycle is more than 35 days, or if the duration varies. There are many possible causes of irregular periods. Sometimes they may just be normal for you. You don't need to get medical advice if you have always had slightly irregular periods or you're still going through puberty. But see a doctor if your periods suddenly become irregular and you're under 45 or if you have periods more often than every 21 days or less often than every 35 days or your periods last longer than 7 days.
Irregular periods aren't always a sign of a problem, but sometimes it's a good idea to see a doctor about them just in case. Thank You.
