Yes I have finally done it. I bought a coach. A motor Coach which I'm going to do a bus conversion on into an RV / motorhome. But, and I mean but, the journey will be a long. But lets say hello to Aura !.
The journey started about 4 years ago when I decided that a standard European style mtorhome wasn't, frankly, robust enough to meet my needs. Too small, too fragile and also, frankly too expensive. At the same tie there is no way my wife would accept living in a small vehicle like a van conversion, so big is quite literally beautiful in this case.
So the journey to find the right vehicle began. I took my bus test, looked at all kinds of double deckers, bendy busses, coaches and vehicles of every size, layout and capacity. In the end I settled on an ex Football Team coach as they have a lot of the infastructure and have been well looked after.
Aura is built buy Beaulas, is 2008 so not a young lady. Beulas is a coach builder in spain but it's on a MAN chassis (VW basically) so can be fixed by most commercial garages in the UK. She has power, aircon, lights, a full kitchen, water systems and a loo. She is missing battery isolator (the leisure batterias are in the same bank as the vehicle battery), a generator/solar, shower and beds/furniture, but a lot going for her.
Her paintwork needs looking at and at some point the steering needs tightening up but, other than that, she's spotless inside and massive.
I will do her up bit by bit over time. This is the journey. then we take her around the world!!
