I started in anger in March 2020 and here we are nearly 14 months on and two of the three rooms are almost finished. Here I set about emptying the rooms of the accumulated rubbish, tools and 'stuff' which, frankly, is now just in the way. I then set about adding woodwork - architraves, skirting boards etc and then wall-paper the feature wall, add lights and finally get round to gloss work.
I would love to say it has been a labour of love, but it has actually been a labour. That said, the end is in sight form DIY loft conversion. Final decoration, door fixes, handing air-conditioning units. All gets us a little closer.
The next challenge is the 'cave of doom' - otherwise known as the en-suite which, as yet, has no window so its dark and dusty in there. I will start tackling that next, but for now please bask in the glory with me of the two main rooms now being almost habitable. Just needs a carpet....
