The DIY loft conversion has still be happening in the background while I sort out my foot which would be more at home attached to a hobbit than me.

Nonetheless, one footed or not, the show continues. Here I finish the shower ventilation by taking advantage of the scaffolding in place for the bathroom window installation and climb up there to drill through the soffits so that the cover adducting can be finished all the way to the outside world.

You also get a sneak preview of the new round loft window (half installed) plus the new soil pipe installation up to the loft (technical term is poo pipe).

However, while the scaffold is there I also take advantage of it and remove a capping form the chimney and add a cowl. This will free uo a fireplace in the lounge. Not loft I know, but a job which enhances the house nonetheless as I now have a working fire in the front room...and very happy I am too....snozzer!!!!!

NOTE: You need to get the chimney swept, smoke tested and the room checked for adequate ventilation by a building control authorised professional to reconstitute a fireplace. Please stay safe and legal.
