eCognition Deconstructed: Morphology
Learn about how to use the "morphology" algorithm in the Trimble eCognition Software to alter the outlines of your image objects. Morphology is an image processing technique for the processing of geometrical structures. In eCognition, the algorithm smoothes the border of image objects by the pixel-based binary Opening or Closing operations.
This algorithm allows you to define a filter (each element of the filter represents a pixel (# for TRUE | . for FALSE)) which is applied on the objects defined in the domain. The filter can have circular, rectangular or any shape you like. Give it a try and have a look.
