Happy Pride Season! - June 1st, 2024
On Saturday, June 1st, we join the 2SLGBTQI+ community in celebrating the beginning of Pride Season, which runs throughout the summer months. It is an opportunity to recognize, celebrate, and learn more about the countless contributions of 2SLGBTQI+ Canadians.
On Saturday, June 15th, York Region will be gathering on Main Street in Newmarket to celebrate Pride Month and Pride Season. This parade, hosted by York Pride, is an opportunity for diverse communities, allies, families, and friends to show their solidarity for the 2SLGBTQI+ community.
We can all benefit from learning about the lived experiences of 2SLGBTQI+ Canadians and to hold space for open and meaningful dialogue regarding any discrimination they have faced, past or present.
