The Power of Decoding Faces Understanding Others at First Glance: Analyzing Volunteers Faces on Stage Part 2
The way that I end my Keynote Presentations is to have people come up on stage and have their Faces Decoded live in front of the audiences.
Why do I do that? There are 2 main reasons:
1. This is to help the audience see what we just talked about live on a real person instead of just some faces on a slide.
2. To show the audience that what we covered in that 45 was the tip of the iceberg in terms of what someones face can reveal.
This particular volunteer had the following features:
Large Eyes and Ears:
When someone has larger eyes than ears it tends to mean they are VISUAL learners
If you watch in this video he says he he learns well with both AUDITORY and VISUALLY
I had said that his eyes looked to be larger so I’d have gotten that wrong
Trimming to see his Upper Lip:
A big mistake a lot of men with mustaches, goatees, and beard do is they don’t trim the mustache.
When a mustache is hiding the upper lip then people don’t know how to interact with the person
The phrase “Keep a stiff upper lip” os what we say to someone if we want them to be stoic so when we can’t see their upper lip we assume their lip is smaller so we keep it “Strictly Business”
What about women?:
Lipstick and Lip Liner can be used to highlight their upper lip
You should DEFINITELY do this if you have CUPID’s BOW (the arrow in the upper lips)
Rounded Chin:
When talking about the chin we say “Take one on the chin”
That’s because chins tell us how people handle criticism and adversity
When someone has a rounded chin they “stick their chin out” to stand up for the people they care about first and themselves second
