Working on some common morphemes that help give us "free words" once we understand how to use them, eg:
/iso/ "reflexive" meaning "to one's self"
/ito/ "reciprocal" meaning "to each other"
/ikê/ meaning "in general" (or something like that 😅)
/staw|stamaw/ meaning "for someone else" (depending on context 😅)
Studying stories is a fantastic way to build out our vocab and comprehension, and something we can do at our own pace on our own time. So we started on a story from Cree Literacy Network: kika-ayâsawi-miyitonâwâw "You will pass them on to one another: Cree Stories of the Horse and Buffalo" and spent some time breaking down the grammar and different verbs that we encountered, inching our way into more intermediate study.
Here's a link to the story: https://creeliteracy.org/2024/07/14/c...
Enjoy!
