In this video, we explore how to use basic foundation strokes to paint beautiful pictures and improve brush control. It helps with getting accustomed to using water and paints as well.

This video is when I was explaining the basics on how to practice strokes while painting landscapes. Using basic strokes is a part of the groundwork that will help you paint better. Although the simple strokes may seem basic , if you are proficient in them, you can approach complex subjects with ease.
I have used a regular drawing book to paint this picture. It’s ok to use regular paper if you are able to control the water and paint when painting. I used Camlin Artists paintbox with 18 shades and a normal synthetic round brush from a local art supply shop.
I encourage my students and all of you who want to start painting to just start without worrying about the materials. Use whatever you have at hand or available at your local art store.
As you paint more you will acquire the skills to paint better, it’s the journey that counts, so enjoy it as you progress!
