In this video, we explore how to paint simple watercolor clouds.

This is a 2 step breakdown of how to paint simple watercolor clouds.
The 1st one is for getting softer shadows(only 1 method is shown here - using only the brush). To keep it simple, I haven't used any other material like cloth, tissue paper or cotton swabs for lifting or softening.
The 2nd one is to paint rainclouds using the same technique.

If you require videos on how to use the lifting technique, I'll be happy to make a video on that as well.
I have used a regular drawing book sheet to paint this picture. It’s ok to use regular paper if you are able to control the water and paint when painting. I used Camlin Artists paintbox with 18 shades and a normal synthetic round brush from a local art supply shop.
I encourage my students and all of you who want to start painting to just start without worrying about the materials. Use whatever you have at hand or available at your local art store.
As you paint more you will acquire the skills to paint better, it’s the journey that counts, so enjoy it as you progress!
