Hi there, this is Alex. We have an app called Premiere SRT on Mac App Store for years. This app is to convert SRT subtitle file to Premiere subtitles. Many many Premiere users who are working on old versions of Premiere Pro CC 2014, 2015 and 2016 asked us to migrate this app to Windows 10. So we are going to make this happen today.
Now we'd like to share with you the app tutorial on Windows 10. We hope the Microsoft Store will approve this app as soon as possible. Thank you very much.
This is my Premiere working sequence. This is my SRT subtitle file. How to convert all these subtitles to Premiere like this? With PremiereSRT, it's easy. Let me show you how.
PremiereSRT is only compatible with Premiere old versions like 2014, 2015 and 2016. If your Premiere has a Title export option in the menu, then it works for you. If not, please don't download this app.
First, we need to export the sequence to a XML file. Click on the sequence, choose menu File-Export-Final Cut Pro XML...Let me save it to Desktop-test and give a file name, then Save it.
Then I need to make title template. Choose menu Title-New Title-Default Still...give a name. Here I just leave the default file name and click OK to continue. In this window, we can make as many formatting as we like. Click on this T button, then use the mouse to drag on canvas to make a title box. Be reminded, don't just click on canvas to make title, we should drag the mouse to make a title input box like this. Then type something here and change its formatting. Let me add a stroke here. Ok, let me change the title position a bit. When you are satisfied with the title template, save it and close this window. After that, I have to export this title to a file. Click on it, go to menu File-Export-Title...Let me save it to Desktop-test and click to save it.
Then, launch PremiereSRT. We need to import 3 files which we prepared before. Click to load the SRT file, click to load the XML file, click to load the title file. Click on Export button and choose a folder to export. Wait a second. Ok, a new sequence file and a new folder which contains titles are generated here.
Finally, we need to import these files to Premiere Pro. I just drag this new sequence file to Premiere Project panel and wait a minute to finish. As you can see, files are imported successfully. Double click to open the new sequence. All subtitles are perfectly fit in the timeline. It's just that easy.
