Trip to Italy - apartment living with railroad

Italy has its quirks too. If you have to rent an apartment or hotel, there are a few things to know. To conserve energy, a key is used to shut the main power to the apartment. You'll have to carry these keys with you and cannot be removed from the key chain. It is done this way on purpose so that when you leave the apartment/hotel, you are forced to turn off the power to take the keys with you and lock the doors behind you.

Another thing to look out for is the location. The railroad behind our apartment shook the whole place every time the train passed every 45 minutes. At first you think it's an earthquake or tremor. I hear you eventually get used to it. But I found to be annoying especially if you're jet lagged or just trying to rest. It reminded me so much of the scenes in My Cousin Vinny. The vibrations aren't as violent or exaggerated like in the film, but you definitely felt it.
