DIE HARD 2 has a plot hole you could fly a 747 through
If you are too young to remember air phones, you should know that they didn't work this way. Seatback phones could make calls down to the ground, but not receive them. In the world of "Die Hard 2," you can just pick up a phone and call an airplane seat UNTIL it might save hundreds of lives, at which point you forget you can do it.
A heartwarming scene of John McClane (Bruce Willis) chatting on the phone with his wife who is 30,000 feet in the sky — a scene definitely tacked onto the script up front to show their relationship — has critical implications for the whole plot.
In short, the huge plot hole in DIE HARD 2 cost 300+ people their lives.
