Using laptop fan noise as a car engine sound
The story is quite specific behind this one:
This summer, somebody asked me to fix their laptop a bit and install Windows 10. It was an ancient 2006 Fujitsu laptop with a stylus. It was pretty cool.
But there was a problem. Its fan was making nightmarish sounds. :o
So I decided to record them. Recently, I installed CarEdit and a bunch of other tools for WR2 and thought of modifying the Trabant 601 addon (more precisely, I copied it and edited the copy). It was speedy, it was semi-decent for drifting, but the engine sound was a bit off. So I decided to use the laptop's fan as the engine sound.
The end result sounded silly and in some cases, even clunkier. :D
