Recipe:
2 cake mixes plus ingredients
Silicone Skull pan
Dowels
Buttercream Frosting
Color Spray
Rolled out fondant (or regular )
9x 13 cake pan
Tin foil
Put skull pan in 9 x 13 cake pan (for stability)
Prop all edges of skull pan with foil so skull pan doesn’t spread out
Bake for 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 20 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean
Cool in pan for 10 minutes . Then carefully remove and cool completely
When completely cool shave cake as needed to level. Frost both inner sides with frosting and insert 4 small dowels to keep together . Put the sides together. If cake isn’t too fragile , crumb coat with buttercream frosting . If it’s fragile wait until it has been taken out of the freezer . Put cake in freezer overnight
After it comes out of the freezer , lightly crumb coat it if you haven’t already .
Take your rolled fondant and roll it out thinner to get the size you need .
Drape it over the skull and smooth out all over cake. Trim excess
Paint eyes and nose with color spray , careful it doesn’t run
Decorate platter and cake as desired
