Napoli defeated Crotone 2-1, but still did not look like themselves.
Jose Maria Callejon opened up the scoring with a goal in the 17'. Dries Mertens crossed the ball into the box, which ended up at the feet of Jose Callejon who was able to shoot the ball in off a Crotone defender.
Manolo Gabbiadini received a straight red card in the 31' after he kicked a Crotone player as he was getting up from a foul. Silly move from him and he will probably miss the next two matches, especially the match against Juventus.
Nikola Maksimovic scored his first goal for Napoli off of a corner kick in the 33' to put Napoli 2-0.
Napoli slowly let Crotone back into the game. They weren't able to dominate the game the way they wanted to. Pepe Reina made some huge saves and then Rosi was able to finally break through in the 89' for Crotone.
Napoli was able to close the match out and get the 3 points, but their defense has not been the same with Kalidou Koulibaly and Elseid Hysaj not looking the same as last year.
Napoli play Empoli midweek and then play Juventus in Torino next weekend.
Jose Callejon - 17'
Nikola Maksimovic - 33'
Rosi - 89'
Manolo Gabbiadini - 31'
