From FREE to FEE 3 Years Without Paying for a Campsite Wood Carving, Canoeing, and Hammock Camping

from FREE to FEE isn't an exaggeration. I haven't paid for a campsite in over 3 years. 72$ for the 4 nights I was at Sugar Lake in British Columbia. Multi day hammock camping is by far the best way to do prolonged trips instead of camping in a tent. The fire ban has lifted, and I cooked up steaks and potatoes on the fire. I pulled out the carving kit and carved myself a little gnome. I hid it at the campsite for someone to find and enjoy good luck. Took my canoe out on the water every day for hours!!! I wasn't able to film the first 2 nights while my buddy tagged along. We were on a bad site and to many people. Day 2 I was able to move to a more secluded campsite setup camp and enjoy some piece and quiet. My parents also came out in the evening of the second day at camp and found themselves a great site on the other side of the campground. Good food, lots of laughs, good company, and 72$ for sleeping outdoors. Paying isn't all that bad it goes to a good cause, and Sugar Lake is a beautiful campground, and the site operators are over the top, so helpful and courteous and a pleasure to chat with. This isn't the kind of campground to practice bushcraft and survival at no cutting wood within the campground. This was more of a slow paced kickback and relax location, which I think I needed.
