Flood Frequency Analysis Basics
I use an example from the Mary's River in Oregon's Willamette River watershed to demonstrate how to conduct a basic flood frequency analysis. I go over the discharge data (peak streamflow) that you need, how to calculate the probability of a flood of a given size, why talking about probability is better than recurrence interval, and how to read a flood frequency plot.
