In this fifteenth and final episode of my VFX Compositing Series, I present the culmination of all the knowledge and skills I have gained over the past 5 months of intense Nuke training during my master's course. This project was our final project (TFM), where we were given the freedom to showcase everything we learned.
For this project, I used a stock video of a car and focused on removing the foreground plants, cleaning up the image to make the car stand out. I had to project almost the entire car, removing distracting elements and adjusting the scene by changing the background and removing the people present.
To give it a unique twist, I added a burning effect, creating a dramatic final look. The most challenging aspects of this project included color matching between the new background and the car, as well as projecting behind the plants, especially in areas with minimal information like the ground and the underside of the car. Additionally, it was crucial to properly align the camera movements to ensure seamless integration.
I am proud to share that this project earned me a Nomination for Best VFX Project at the Tadeo de Oro Awards in my school, marking a significant achievement in my VFX journey.
This project truly reflects the skills and techniques I have mastered in VFX compositing with Nuke, and I am excited to share it with you as the grand finale of this series.
