Body: Fine chenille, Black & Chartreuse
Legs: Medium Round Rubber Legs, White
The Slow Sink Spider is a simple fly similar to the Foam Spider ( • Tying The Foam Rubber Spider - Dressed Irons ) but with chenille for the body so it will sink rather than float. The basic version does not have any lead on the shank so it sinks very slowly however you can have it sink faster with an extra heavy hook or by applying lead wraps to the shank before tying. It is a wonderful fly for warmwater or coldwater species. It works well while terrestrials are in season but it does surprisingly well throughout the year. - - Enjoy
