Uh Oh... // Pick-up Hockey // September 20, 2020
Oof. At one point during this pickup, the elastic toe strap I use snapped. I'd been using the same one for years so it was a matter of time, but compounding the issue was the fact that I had recently stopped wearing a boot strap (that was also elastic). It was so distracting, especially when the remnants kept getting under my skate blade, making me slip.
I tried tying it up into my pads a few times, eventually just ripping it off completely. I played decently well despite the distraction, but I also let a few stinkers in. Thankfully the endurance is finally starting to return and my leg fatigue is getting better.
This one is quite a bit longer than most of them, for some reason. Sorry about that!
