If you're planning to use rufus to add persistence to your linux live or linux ubuntu installation, then you will still need to modify your bootloader so that it knows to use persistence.
In the command line of the boot loader edit it and add the flag "persistent"
After doing that...
1. I'm able to save my wifi password
2. I'm able to add and save user accounts
3. I'm able to save my firefox preferences.
NOTE:
This slows down running the live flash drive ALOT.
Both boot up, loading apps, and finally shutting down increase alot.
But this still feels faster then installing straight to a usb flash drive.
your flash drive might die due to constant write and re-writes.
RECOMMENDED:
please install into m2, nvme, or standard ssd through usb would be better.
