High Cost Electric in summer August when kids home Summer Break 758kWh $295 ~ 38.8c/kWh Edison SoCal
this is a rough estimate of how much I'm spendjng this month for August in the summer when my kids are home.
Typically, non AC months I am paying around over $100 for electric. With socal Edison's rate hikes.. I believe I pay around $125 a month.
But during the summer,,, this 2024.. in august..
I used about 758 kWh of electricity.
My monthly bill will come around $300 or about $295
That comes out to be around 38.8 cents / kWh
Electricity in southern california orange county is pretty expensive.
Again... for about 3 months of the summer my electric shoots up to about double or more my normal cost.
Should I get solar panels? Maybe
I could probably pay them off in 8-12 years.
But SoCal Edison has already made getting solar panels not as cost efficient (they only pay wholesale rates for any energy that we produce!)
