Jazz for the Future: A Benefit for Kamala Harris
Welcome to this special edition of The Pace Report.
On October, Sunday 20, 2024 the jazz community came out to support the democratic Presidential nominee, Kamala Harris. "Jazz for Kamala: A Benefit for the Kamala Harris Campaign" was spearheaded by pianist Aaron Goldberg. Over the last two decades, Aaron has organized jazz music fundraisers for Democratic presidential nominees including John Kerry, Barack Obama, and Joe Biden.
This year's Jazz Legends who performed include Billy Hart, Joe Lovano, Kenny Barron, Al Foster, and Al Foster. Hosted by NEA Jazz Master Dee Dee Bridgewater, this segment also features performances from Jeff "Tain" Watts, Ekwp Nkwelle, Robert Glasper, Christian McBride, and Joshua Redman.
