CCIR Student Spotlights: Sanchit on Quantum Backpropagation Algorithm
Sanchit Sidhu is a student at Metea Valley High School in the USA. His achievements include being an AIME Qualifier, ICTM State Mathematics Champion, NSML All-Division Award recipient, and winner of the Young Authors Award for fiction writing.
In his volunteer work and extracurricular activities, Sanchit serves as Math Team Captain, leading and teaching sophomore students in the Math Club. He also heads the SAT/ACT Tutoring Club, helping students and organising practice tests. Additionally, he volunteers with the Starving Kids program and at the Naperville Library, where he teaches younger children through the Team Tutors initiative.
At the CCIR Academy, Sanchit's research project, "Quantum Backpropagation Algorithm," investigates the development and application of a quantum computing version of the backpropagation algorithm, a key method in training neural networks. His study explores how quantum computing could enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of this algorithm, potentially leading to faster and more powerful machine learning models.
Sanchit’s recognition in the CCIR Academy reflects his dedication to research, with appreciation for the support provided by his professor and the CCIR Academy.
