Struggling with Leakage during impact activities such as running and jumping?
Try strengthening your calf muscles in addition to your pelvic floor and deep core. Fun fact there is a strong connection between the nerves in your calfs and the nerves of your bladder, strengthening your lower legs can help with leakage symptoms.
Here are three exercises to try:
1. Single leg calf raises- with your hands gently placed on the wall. Slowly roll up through to the ball of your foot and slowly reverse it back down.
2. Weight calf raises- holding a weight in front of you or to the side, again gently roll up through your feet to the balls of your feet then slowly roll back down.
3. Eccentric calf raises- using a step or elevated surface, have your heels hanging off of the step. Go up into a calf raise on both feet, shift your weight over to one foot then SLOWLY lower down on the single leg.
