Normals settings detemines from which perspective a surface is visible (rendered by graphics card). Normals are usually set automatically by 3D modeling software (inside which they may be edited as well) or by Game engine during import. However, sometimes they may be set wrongly, like in the video example. This video shows how to flip normals right in the Unreal engine.

Beside simple flipping, Unreal allows also more complex operations with normals.
Note: In terms of performance optimization, each surface should be rendered from one side only, unless both side rendering is necessary.
