This a practical demonstration of the basics of deplying IBM Transformation Extender (ITX) maps directly from the Eclipse based Design Studio on Windows to Linux / AIX and other compatible systems with FTP capabilities.
There is a barely documented feature of Design Studio that allows you to deploy maps (and in some cases input / meta data as well) via an FTP script directly from Design Studio.
Although not considered secure for production usage, FTP is still used in many pre-Prod environments, and these techniques can save time switching tools during a testing phase.
Post video production, I saw that the 'all maps' option can be made to work by completing the 'Global server location' entry.
