Simultaneously Diagonalizable Matrices Commute and a Partial Converse
We prove that if two matrices are simultaneously diagonalizable, then they will commute: AB=BA. Conversely, if A has distinct eigenvalues and it commutes with B, then we prove that A and B are simultaneously diagonalizable.
