The Panasonic V160, recently updated to the V180 with optical stabilization, is a great choice and highly discounted. So I bought one! In this video I take a close look at the video quality compared to a video camera that costs 5 times as much. The review results of the Panasonic V160 compared to the Canon HF G20 / HF G25 are surprising.

The V160 can be powered by USB power packs, has a clean HDMI output, manual controls and uses SD cards. It's compact.
