The thermal conductivity of a gas is described using the kinetic theory of gases. The coefficient of thermal conduction is derived using the fundamental properties of the ideal gas, such as the mean speed of atoms in the gas and their mean free path. The coefficient of thermal conductivity is also derived using the definition of internal energy. We also compare the coefficient of viscosity to the coefficient of thermal conductivity.
