Mr & Mrs Guillaume de Leeuw, Riziki Group, Watamu
Watamu power couple Guillaume and Mercy de Leeuw have made a name for themselves as manufacturers of quality precast concrete and other building materials to support the growing needs of the coastal town’s economic boom. When they sought to buy a competitor company in the neighbouring town of Malindi, only I&M Bank showed interest in financing the acquisition and went ahead to provide much appreciated business conveyancing advice. In the end, the deal that the De Leeuws closed was even more lucrative than the one initially offered. Guillaume’s voice softens noticeably when he says, “I&M is like a colleague, and a friend.” The consolidated company, now called Riziki Group has been banking at our Malindi branch. Through feedback gathered from customers like Mercy and Guillaume on the need to have a branch closer to them, we recently opened a branch in Watamu, a move for which Mercy thanks our Personal and Business Banking General Manager Shameer Patel and Head of Distribution Stanley Gachoki.
