The Crack: Death Valley Discoveries Ep. 2
On February 21, 2014, Steve Hall discovered a place called The Crack in the Funeral Mountains of Death Valley National Park. The Crack is a beautiful 1 1/2 mile long shallow slot canyon made of uplifted (or tilted) rock layers including sandstone. In March of 2023, Steve retraces his original route over the course of 7+ miles to bring viewers a firsthand look at this special place in Death Valley Discoveries Episode 2. The parking area for The Crack is located about 9 miles north of the Furnace Creek gas station on Hwy. 190.
