Old radio is now a fancy Bluetooth speaker.
Some years ago I got this cool transistor era Robertson R600 beach radio. Only that it turned out to be broken. I didn't find the heart to throw it away.
Then I found something on Taobao: small bluetooth receivers with integrated amplifier for something like 3 USD. Plus a voltage regulator (2USD) and an hour of work, voila, a Bluetooth speaker that kicks ass for 5 bucks plus a rc plane battery.
'Off to the beaches now!
