Hello and welcome to a new video about a distribution.

After a long break due to a prolonged internet problem, I'm back. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to look at any other distributions in the meantime.

As shown in the video, my download speed was quite poor, which is why I hardly did anything. I was half offline and half online. I honestly wanted to use the time sensibly, but not even my 5G could save me. My data allowance was already more than used up. Browsing was still possible, but downloading anything over my data allowance would have been impossible.

It just showed me how much I surf the web each day.

But now to LOC-OS. I found LOC-OS via Distrowatch. The distribution reminded me of WattOS. Visually, the desktop environment is LXDE, which is the same for both.

What I have to say upfront is that I think this distribution is visually appealing. You boot into the distribution and are immediately greeted by the visuals. If you don't like or prefer the LXDE desktop environment, you don't have to download it.

My sound worked right away. The only thing that didn't work was the Bluetooth. But that varies from user to user. I mean, everyone has different hardware installed in their PC. And therefore, everyone has a different Bluetooth version or a different Bluetooth dongle.

What I meant about the icons on the desktop is that when you select them and try to move them, they suddenly disappear and aren't visible for a moment. But I assume this will probably be fixed. Or it simply happened during the live session.

I think I've shown almost everything the Linux distribution has to offer.

And thus most of its functions. I just want to say something about the Control Center. I think it's good that it exists, and I would be even happier if it had more functions, i.e., more settings options. Like, for example, the language or the keyboard language so that Y and Z aren't mixed up because it's set to English or American.

Regarding the installation itself, I just wanted to briefly mention that during my installation, an error occurred for some reason I don't understand. So, it was a hard drive error. What I found strange was that I couldn't find my distribution during boot. When I decided to reinstall it, I kept getting an error message saying that Grub couldn't be installed, and the installation aborted. That's why I said that in the video.

I suspect that because I partitioned the hard drive with GParted, the distribution installation worked initially.

Just a few final words. I think LOC-OS is a really great distribution, and I felt comfortable using it. It doesn't offer much, and those who like Snapcraft won't find what they're looking for here. But there are alternatives under Linux, such as Flatpak or the Synaptic Package Manager. I enjoyed using it, and I'm glad I got my hands on this distribution, whether by clicking a button or using a live USB stick.

With that in mind, have fun with the distribution and all the best.

Sincerely,
