Hats off Vancouver! Seeing the West End circa 1946
Here is a little panoramic preview of Vancouver, circa 1946 or perhaps 1947, seen from a rooftop near Robson Street. Filmed by American tourist George Devlin, this rare 8mm colour film footage shows the West End almost exclusively as single family homes. The song "Hats off! Vancouver (on your golden jubilee)" from 1936 was selected as the soundtrack, mixed from a midi file posted by the library of UBC here: http://www.library.ubc.ca/music/bcmus... The film footage was transferred to HD by Cineworks in Vancouver in 2013.
